Mapex USA has just released what may be its most beautiful and sought after drum set ever. The 2008 Limited Edition Orion Chocolate Burl drum set will be sold in extremely limited quantities in North America.
What sets this all maple drum set apart is its exquisite exterior burl veneer. Handmade in Italy, the remarkably figured exterior ply is formed together with six North American maple plies for an ultra-thin (6.1mm), ultra-resonant shell that’s built to be enjoyed for generations.

The limited edition is only available in six-piece component packs, including a 22×18 bass drum, 10×8 and 12×9 tom toms, 14×14 and 16×16 floor toms and a matching 14×5.5 snare drum, all featuring all-maple Orion shell construction and luxurious black chrome hardware and a classic, white coated front bass drum head.
The 2008 Limited Edition Orion Chocolate Burl (TM628SBPHNL) carries an MSRP of $5,799.99 and will only be sold by authorized Destination Mapex dealers.
